How to find out if the BriarGate Resthome is right for you

Circumstances at the time of seeking preferred care services will vary. The person in need may be at home with or without a carer, living with relatives, in a resthome or a hospital. The following are general guidelines.

Here at BriarGate Resthome we firmly suggest that you contact the nearest District Health Board and ask for the Needs Assessment Service and arrange for an assessment of your family member / relative you are concerned about.

Think about the geography, where are we in relation to people most likely to visit. Ultimately though we recommend you choose what is best for your family member / relative.

Decide the services you want - residency, short term stay(respite) or daycare.

Simply call us on 09-444-4484 and speak to the Manager or the Registered Nurse.

When you tell us the circumstances we can agree on the path to follow.

Alternatively, send us an email or fax us and we will get in touch with you to answer your questions.

We recommend that you visit us at an early stage with or without your family member / relative. We do not always have residential beds available so an early decision on your part can be made.

The process of assessment is mutual as we must also carry out our own assessment as to whether we have the right place for the one in need. We can visit you at home, hospital or resthome.

Information Packs / Admission Agreements for BriarGate Dementia Care are available when we meet or by mail.
